Investmech analyses and optimise ventilation systems using Monte-Carlo or Nelder-Mead analyses, depending on the requirements. Investmech did the sizing of the ducts, fans and sound attenuation for the Gautrain underground stations and emergency shafts. ASHRAE recommended loss factors were used and SANS standards for noise control.
