Investmech was formed in April 1998 by a group of 6 lecturers and employees from the University of Pretoria. The company was dormant until 2001 when the Investmech directors did a buy-out of the previously known LGI Structural Mechanics and Dynamics Group. Through this management buy-out, Investmech realised more than 20 years of cumulative experience in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, Structural Mechanics, Testing and various other related fields.

Since the buy-out in 2001, Investmech has since expanded and now serves four distinct niche market segments with specialist groups, namely Investmech Testing Services (ITS), Investmech Consulting Engineering (ICE), Investmech Business Consulting (IBC) and Investmech Products.

We are ISO 9001:2000 certified and network with various institutions, companies and experts in various fields to enable the company to deliver products and services of exceptional quality and standard.

Our goal is sustainable profitability to generate sustainable financial and operational growth in the interest of our stakeholders.

Dr. Michiel Heyns (Pr.Eng. F.Inst.D) serves as the CEO of Investmech where he uses a vision driven leadership style and maintains a suitable corporate culture and atmosphere.

Both Dr. Michiel Heyns and Cornel Botha (Honours, Industrial Engineering) serve as directors at Investmech.

Ciska Struwig serves as manager of Finance & Customer Relations and forms part of Investmech’s Executive Team.
