  • Stress-life
  • Preparations:
    • Chapter 5: Stress-strain relationships and behavior
    • Chapter 6: Review of complex and principal states of stress and strain
    • Chapter 7: Yielding and fracture under combined stresses
    • Chapter 9: Fatigue of materials: stress-based approach
    • Chapter 10: Stress-based approach to fatigue: Notched members
    • Notes on:
      • Forces, moments and stress distributions
      • Behavior of materials under dynamic loading

Day 2

  • Stress-life example
  • Stress-strain properties of materials beyond yielding
  • Strain-life
  • Introduction to standards and weld fatigue
  • Preparation work:
    • Chapter 10: Stress-based approach to fatigue: Notched members
    • Chapter 12: Plastic deformation behavior and models for materials.
    • Chapter 13: Stress-strain analysis of plastically deforming members. Pay special attention to:
